A book about the great Charlie Munger - it’s actually more a collection of his writings/public speeches. Not just focused on business, there are chapters on psychology, human nature, investing, so it makes for a fascinating read. Would highly recommend.
- Prescription for good life was what NOT to do:
- Ingesting chemicals in an effort to alter mood or perception
- envy
- resentment
- be unreliable
- learn only from your own experiences
- go down + stay down when you get your 1st/2nd/3rd reverse in the battle of life
- Advice for young people:
- don’t sell anything you wouldn’t buy yourself
- don’t work for anyone you don’t respect + admire
- work only with people you enjoy
- To get what you want, try to deserve what you want
- What to Look for in a Partner (Warren Buffett):
- Someone smarter and wiser than you.
- Someone who will never second-guess you nor sulk when you make expensive mistakes.
- A generous soul who will put up his own money and work for peanuts.
- Someone who will constantly add to the run as you travel a long road together.
